FIELD LEVEL: Field Level recruiting services to help our players connect with and learn about college lacrosse programs from all over the country. Field Level is a free service where players can build an online profile and post highlight videos. Coaches and players can reach out to each other to share info and start the recruiting process. Mona Shores is currently connected with 150 college lacrosse coaches from all over the country through Field Level. If you are interested in the possibility of playing college lacrosse, I highly recommend you start a Field Level account. There are no requirements or commitments and like anything else, you will get out of it what you put in. Field level has helped many of our players research programs, share information and introduce new schools they may have not known about.
Go to this link to request to join our Field Level account https://www.fieldlevel.com/tt6mkeee/lacrossemen/roster/signup?teamId=462492&m=3 I will certify your account and write a brief synopsis of you and your position, strengths, potential, attitude and skillset. I am honest in these descriptions and can/will change them when necessary. I am happy to speak with College Coaches on your behalf and welcome all conversations or questions about the recruiting process. Let me know if you want to play college lacrosse and what level. Coaches are always emailing, messaging and approaching me asking "Who should I look at?". I do not want to waste their time or miss an opportunity to help you.
SHOWCASES: Showcases are events where players come together to practice and play in front of college coaches. Over the last few years we have sent many players to the Can Am showcase but there are many more options now. Showcases can give you great insight to what coaches are looking for and allow you to honestly assess your skillset against other top level players. If you want to attend a showcase and need a coaches referral, email me back with the link and I will submit it right away. I will provide info and details about showcases as they arise and can help players know what to expect at these events.
PROSPECT CAMPS: Prospect Camps are 1 day events where a college program invite players to campus for a day of practice and games ran by the coaching staff and players. They are a tremendously effective way to learn about a college program. Every camp is different and they give you a sense of the level of talent, coaching style, team culture and where that program is going. They also put you on campus and allow you to see the facilities, meet with coaches and players and tour the campus. I highly recommend attending prospect camps as a recruiting tool as they provide a multitude of knowledge about those programs and at the very least you get a day of different coaching and may learn something new and useful.
TOURNAMENTS: If you have the opportunity and desire to play travel lacrosse, summer and fall tournaments are an opportunity to showcase your skills and talent and connect with college coaches at different events. Some tournaments promote as showcases and bring in coaches from all over the country while smaller tourneys may have more regional or local coaches in attendance. Some tournaments also offer film packages for players who want to make their own recruiting videos. If you are interested in playing travel lacrosse, let me know and I can point you in a direction that works best for you. You do not have to play travel lacrosse to be recruited, but it does help.
A list of our college lacrosse commits can be found to the right. As Mona Shores Lacrosse continues to grow and improve we will gain the attention of more college programs as a resource for talented players and solid athletes. I am available to sit and discuss the recruiting process with you or your family on the phone or in person. There are many factors that go into the recruiting experience and I feel it is important that our players be prepared as they begin the process. I can help explain the difference between the associations and divisions and provide insight about a lot of different programs. I have already sat with many players and families and enjoy the conversation and look forward to more. The recruiting experience can be daunting and with the growth of our program and more players going on to play college lacrosse, many of our players are going to have options. Being recruited to play college lacrosse is a privilege and you and your family should enjoy the process and have fun with it. Going to college is a wonderful and important experience for those who choose that path. Playing lacrosse in college makes it even wonderfuller. (sorry) Let me know what I can do to help.
